My story

Growing up as a child, I was never so impressed or had any liking for Martial Arts. Being born in the Jain family, my approach towards life was fuel with ideals of non-violence and peace. Whenever I use to watch any Hollywood movies or action-filled fighting scenes on TV, I used to tell myself that its entertaining but definitely not real and only fantasy. At best, my understanding on benefits one could get through martial arts was only limited to building great fitness and vibrant health with some funky skill to escape a survival situation by hitting someone at the groin.

Through life’s experiences be it mild bullying in school and colleges or facing personal adversity in life, I come to realise that there is lot of inner resistance I carry within me which needs to channelize forward. I looked at other people around me and I saw that same resistance/inner conflict and dilemmas which we all as human being grapple with everyday be it in making small or big choices in life.

My first impact of association with Martial Art began when I read a book of legendary Martial Artist Bruce Lee “Striking Thoughts”. This was also the most difficult time of my life through presence of challenges at multiple fronts. This book inspired me and made me open a new horizon which I didn’t know existed in Martial Arts and that was philosophy of living life with wisdom. Through following Bruce lee’s work and understanding of Martial Arts, I was connected to take the next step of learning the art. In my first attempt, I found a place who taught me martial arts style of Bruce lee-Jeet Kune Do. That was the beginning of my Martial Arts journey at the age of 18.

My understanding of true meaning of non-violence and peace which is more psychological than physical deepened by styding the doctrine of Martial arts.

Next few years of my life proved to be the most adventurous filled with joy, satisfaction and learning. I went deeper and deeper by learning many different art forms simultaneously and exploring philosophy of Martial arts. I overcame all my challenges which I was facing when I began my journey and faced new challenges and adventures as that is the way of life. I experienced that life is beautiful and thrilling adventure and my purpose of life is to know life more deeply and share its beauty though martial art with many more people. After 7 years of learning the art with lot of passion, I decided to teach martial arts as my profession leaving behind glamourous corporate life as financial analyst at MNC. The need to teach within me came from seeing the reality that there is no proper school, academy or classes around me who teaches Martial arts in its essence. Martial art is taught either as some new age fitness exercises or worse traditional forms like Karate which are completely not practical with complete miss on wisdom of martial arts.

Martial art teaches one wisdom of life and gives all the tools one needs to overcome challenges from within to know oneself better. It is a way of life which is relevant for all human beings as we all go through inner battle every day in our life. Through this brand, I humbly dream to leave little legacy on the true essence of Martial arts. All the 8 forms which the brand offers are only different ways of arriving at the same goal which is harmonising the duality of Ying and Yang within us.
